Powder density refers to the mass corresponding to a unit volume of powder. Because there are voids (or pores) between particles or within particles in the powder, the density of the powder is usually lower than the true density of the corresponding substance. Tap density refers to the density of the powder contained in the container after being tapped under specified conditions.
